Resources and Partners
Partners for programs and resources come in many different forms; it is always useful to have as many partners as possible with whom to collaborate.
Chabad of South Denver Rabbi Yossi and Chanie Serebryanski (303.744.9699 info@cosd.net) was a great partner for programming on campus and around Jewish Holidays. Many Hillels and Chabads on the same campus end up being competitive, fighting over students and scheduling conflicting events. This was not the case with our Chabad. Here is a list of events we cosponsored: High Holidays, Passover, Purim, and Shabbat 100. We also coordinated our calendars with each other to maximize the number of non--conflicting options for our students.
Professor David Shneer in the History and Judaic Studies departments (303.871.2957 dshneer@du.edu ) A wonderful young professor, one of the top at the university. His students love him and he is a great resource for all kinds of Jewish issues. He co-edited an anthology called "Queer Jews" and speaks several languages fluently including Yiddish, Russian, and Hebrew.
Deborah Barton Director of the Center for Multicultural Excellence (303.871.7660 dbarton@du.edu ) An amazing woman who cosponsored the Freedom Seder. She supervises many other student groups on camps like the Black Student Alliance and the Latino Student Alliance. She is a person who has a lot of vision and can make things happen.
